Lina Dávila


Biologist from the University of Tolima and Master in Food Science and Technology from the Universidad Nacional of Colombia. She is a doctoral candidate in Agricultural Sciences at the University Tolima’s University. She is a researcher of the Natural Products Research Group of the University of Tolima – GIPRONUT, in the lines of biotechnology for the use of biomass and bioactive substances for agricultural, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and nutritional applications. Her work has been focused on the bioprospection of wild macro-fungi from Tolima with cytotoxic, antimicrobial, antioxidant and food potential; which has been disclosed in research papers, posters and oral in both national and international events. She has complementary training in topics related to innovation management and the use of biological and genetic resources and/or derived products in Colombia.

She has developed several research projects about the Colombian funga and projects of social appropriation of knowledge, such as: Fungal sailors and Fungiculturists: Growing mushrooms, reaping well-being.

She currently participates in the inter-institutional alliance between the University of Tolima and the Cannabis company Etnothecarium-Botica Natural for the research and development of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products from compounds obtained from Colombian biodiversity.
