Cristina Sánchez is an Associate Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Complutense University (Madrid, Spain). Since the late 1990s, her research has focused on describing and understanding the antitumoral properties of cannabinoids, with the ultimate goal of translating this information into the clinical setting. Her most recent work explores the potential of the endocannabinoid system both as a therapeutic target and as a prognostic marker in breast cancer. She’s the current Secretary and one of the founding members of the Spanish Observatory on Medicinal Cannabis, a member of the Spanish Cannabinoid Research Society Board of Directors, and Vice-Dean of Research of the School of Biology at Complutense University.
